For many of you, tonight's UTEP versus Kansas game conjures up fond memories of more than 21 years ago. Miners fans have often flashed back to Dayton Ohio, and the second round of the 1992 NCAA Tournament when the 9th seeded team coached by Don Haskins upset the top seeded Kansas Jayhawks in the Midwest Regional. UTEP's 66-60 win over Kansas marked the last time the Miners won a game in the NCAA Tournament. It is also considered the second biggest win in program history, trailing only Kentucky in the 1966 NCAA Championship Game.

In order to get Miners fans in the mood for the Battle 4 Atlantis Consolation Game later tonight, here is the 1992 game broken up into three parts. The video is courtesy of MinersOne, who has compiled some of the memorable UTEP football and basketball videos over the years. The postgame interview with Digger Phelps is courtesy of MinerMac. The Miners are only 12-point underdogs against the #2 ranked Jayhawks tonight in the Bahamas, so maybe lightning can strike twice?
