INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Marcus Ericsson had a message to deliver following his Indianapolis 500 victory. He wanted the world to know his win was pretty impressive for a pay driver — which is the label that has followed the Swede his entire career. Because he's backed by Swedish investors who helped Ericsson make it to Formula One, he's often been viewed as a ride buyer not worthy of his seat. AP Auto Racing Writer Jenna Fryer says that in winning the Indy 500, Ericsson showed he's very much a legitimate race car driver.
