This has been, it’s safe to say, the oddest school year in anyone’s memory and the summer will be just as weird with parents wondering how they are going to keep their beasties busy at home. The El Paso Independent School District has come up with one thing to help a little with several online courses that your kids can take to fill up some time and probably learn something they're interested in anyway.

The Summer Enrichment Camps will begin on June 1 and run to July 3 at 1 and 2 o'clock in the afternoon. The classes are free and will cover topics like fine arts, technology, engineering, science, health and wellness, college and career readiness, languages, and culture.

The classes are 45-minutes long and begin at 1 p.m., and 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. Click here to sign up.

I checked out the website and there are some really cool classes being offered. There is a 2D Animated Sprites and Pixel Art Class where your kid can learn how to create 2D animation and pixel art that can help with game development through a free accessible online app. There is also the Create Your Own Music On GarageBand class so your budding rock star can learn the basics of GarageBand. If you have a kiddo who is going into middle school there is a class called Surviving Middle School that will cover topics like peer pressure and bullying.

There are cooking classes, fitness classes, and history classes that will take your kids around the world as well. I think this is a great idea, but some classes are limited in size, so make sure you log on and schedule the classes they want as soon as possible. There are hundreds of classses to choose from so jump online and keep those monsters busy and learning.
