It did not take long for the El Paso Chihuahuas to decide which Major League Baseball team they would be affiliated with for the next two years. Earlier today, the team announced that they would be extending their Player Development Contract with the San Diego Padres for the next two years.

After the press conference, Taylor told 600 ESPN El Paso that the decision to continue the Chihuahuas' Player Development Contract is a win win for both organizations.

The inaugural season for the Chihuahuas shattered the attendance record for professional baseball in El Paso. The team drew 548,435 fans to Southwest University Park, which Taylor said was larger than anyone could have expected.

Despite the Chihuahuas season ending Monday, the organization is preparing for the Mexican Baseball Fiesta, to be played September 28th and 29th at Southwest University Park. Taylor told Team 600 what fans should expect to see during the two-day event later this month.
