In the Detroit Lion's win over the Green Bay Packers, it seemed for once the penalties seemed to go in their favor.

When the Detroit Lions beat the Green Bay Packers over the weekend the team went from a 1-6 record to a 2-6 record. That would mean in order for the Lions to get a wild card into the playoffs, they would have to win every game left in the season, and Green Bay and the Chicago Bears would have to lose all their games for the rest of the season. All 3 of those things happening at the same time are not likely but a win is a win.

This makes 5 losses in a row for Aaron Rogers and the Packers. The Packers moved the ball well all day but Lion's defense was great in the RedZone. Intercepting Rogers 3 times kept the Packers from scoring.

The Lions beat the Packers 15 to 9 but it wasn't a pretty victory. Yes, the Lions finally scored a touchdown in the second half, and the touchdown scored in the second quarter followed by a two-point conversion, that was about it for the offense. The rest of Lion's good fortune came in the way of penalties.

Detroit Lions and Bad Calls

We all remember that touchdown pass Calvin Johnson caught against the Bears that got called back and cost them the game when it was a clear touchdown.

The Lions have been one of the most penalized teams I have ever watched in football history on top of getting bad calls from referees that always seem to lean in the opposing team's favor. I don't know how many games I've watched where it felt like the Lions played the other team, the refs, and themselves. It's a lot harder to win going up against 3 things instead of 1.

If both teams are holding somewhere every play, why is it that the Lions always get caught? Do they need to change the color of their jerseys?

Did the Detroit Lions Get the Calls Against the Green Bay Packers?

There were some pass interference calls made against the Packers in Sunday's game that I even questioned and I was rooting for the Lions. I'm used to seeing the New England Patriots and the Dallas Cowboys getting calls in their favor but not the Lions.

It was like the roles were reversed where normally the Packers get all the calls in their favor and the Lions get screwed, it was the other way around, well except the two times the Packers fumbled and got the ball back.

I guess a win is a win but I would sure prefer a clean win and not one that has the other team or the Lions scratching their heads based on questionable calls from the referees.
