Catch Glory Road Streaming Live on ESPN Tonight

In the midst of ESPN replaying classic games, showing documentaries and figuring out something new each day for primetime television, they will be streaming Glory Road on Friday night starting at 6:30 MT.

For us in El Paso, it feels like the perfect way to escape from reality and dive into this classic film. And through the Don Haskins Hour episodes on the 600 ESPN El Paso Podcast, the timing couldn't have been better. We have dedicated the final hour of SportsTalk to relive the best episodes from the Don Haskins Radio Show with Steve Kaplowitz, where we have heard The Bear tell all sorts of great UTEP and Texas Western stories.

Since Glory Road has been on Disney+, it has received love on social media by those rewatching the classic basketball movie based on the 1966 Texas Western National Championship team that started five African American players against an all-white Kentucky team. The game is long remembered as changing sports forever by breaking early barriers of racism and civil rights.

The movie has been a staple in the city of El Paso. Even today, UTEP men's basketball players, who aren't from El Paso, will reference how special the movie is to them. The tradition of the movie runs deep as one of the most iconic sports movies made.
