Today, both the UTEP men's basketball team and the UTEP women's basketball team released their Conference USA schedule for the 2021-22 season.

Gone is Bonus Play and the back-to-back format from last season. Instead, the Miners will play twice each against their West Division opponents (La Tech, North Texas, Rice, Southern Miss, UAB, and UTSA). The remaining six games will be against East Division schools (Charlotte, FAU, FIU, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, and Old Dominion. The only league program UTEP will not face off with is Western Kentucky. This is the second straight season that the Miners and Hilltoppers have not faced off in regular season league games.

"We are excited about going back to traditional scheduling and competing in divisions," UTEP head coach Joe Golding said in the official school release. "We look forward to having our fans back in the Haskins Center and making it the toughest place to play in the league!"

The UTEP women will mirror the men's schedule as far as playing dates and opponents. Both teams will have their bye weeks on February 10th and 24th. When the Miner men are home, the women will be on the road and vice versa.

"Like in years past, we will focus on divisional play rather than one overall champion," UTEP women's basketball head coach Kevin Baker said in the official school release. "We think this will add to the overall excitement of league play. The season will be filled with on-the-edge-of-your-seat nail biters!"
