Boston’s Pizza Restaurant & Sports Bar Expanding to El Paso
Have you noticed the buildings going up in front of Topgolf? 93.1 KISS-FM has learned it’s a retail development and that the larger of the buildings will house El Paso’s first Boston’s Pizza Restaurant & Sports Bar location.
The local franchisee himself hasn’t confirmed the news, but the weekly publication El Paso Inc. recently let the cat out of the bag citing a Montecillo spokesperson as its source. Montecillo is the community along N. Mesa featuring a mix of residential, retail, and entertainment options, including Alamo Drafthouse, iFLY and Hillside Coffee & Donut Co.
Initially a Canada-only restaurant chain, Boston’s has expanded into the United States and Mexico over the years and has grown to over 400 locations in North America. Ironically, it does not have a location in the city of Boston.
As its name suggests, Boston’s Pizza Restaurant & Sports Bar is both a family dining restaurant specializing in pizza, and a sports bar. From what I understand, the areas are separate.
From the looks of its menu, bar-food staples like burgers, wings, nachos, and cheesy fried stuff is prominent, but offerings like pastas and salads are also part of its extensive menu. And, of course, pizza. And TVs. You can’t be a sports bar and not have TVs on every wall, amirite?
No word yet on when the El Paso location will open, but from the looks of the construction progress being made it could be by the end of this year. Perhaps in time for the NFL Playoffs? Fingers crossed.
