For the first time since the 2002 season, the Bengals don't have a quarterback named Palmer on their roster.  Former number one pick Carson Palmer refuses to play another down for Cincinnati, and today the Bengals released his younger brother Jordan.

The former Miner was Carson's backup in 2010, but has had the fewest snaps of any Cincinnati quarterback during the preseason.  The Bengals plan to go into the 2011 season with three quarterbacks, rookie Andy Dalton, veteran Bruce Gradkowski, and former Central Michigan standout Dan LeFevour.

Palmer told reporters from his home in Cincinnati, "Based on coming off the offseason and coming into camp, yeah, I'm surprised." "As I started to see this unfolding in terms of the opportunity I was given, I'm not as surprised now."

With Carson out of the league it will be interesting to see if Jordan gets another crack in the NFL
