Back To Back C-USA Championships for UTEP Women’s Indoor Track & Field

Fresh off a Conference Championship campaign in 2015, the first in program history for the women, the UTEP Indoor Track & Field team achieved the glory again this year. UTEP has been prestigious in Track & Field for some time as they have garnished many awards and championships throughout the program’s history.

Many accomplishments took place for the Miners in Birmingham, AL during the Conference USA Championships. For the men it was Jonah Keuch grabbing the Freshman of the Year award. For the women Coach Mika Laaksonen won C-USA Coach of the Year.

Nickevea Wilson was the star for the Miners as she was named Conference USA Women’s Field Performer of the Meet as well as her third career gold medal in the triple jump at the Conference Championships. If that isn’t enough, Wilson also claimed USTFCCCA Mountain Region Athlete of the Year.
