The Houston Astros won their first ever World Series on Wednesday night with a 5-1 victory over the Dodgers in game 7.  In what was one of the greatest World Series in the history of baseball that saw a record number of home runs hit, and drama from start to finish, ended with Houston bringing a world championship in MLB to the state of Texas for the first time, for a city that desperately needed a spark to hold their heads up high after Hurricane Harvey's devastation.

Fueled by the most prolific offense in baseball, the Astros stunned Los Angeles with timely hitting, key pitching and World Series MVP George Springer's 5 home runs hit from the leadoff spot, which was unprecedented.  The feel good story for the Astros got even better following their win last night when All-Star shortstop Carlos Correa proposed to his girlfriend Daniella Rodriguez on the field.  Correa played here in El Paso in late August while on a rehab assignment with the Fresno Grizzles.
