It's not too often the UTEP Miners traverse into SEC country, and when they do, the results have been less than inspiring.  In 2010, the Miners fell to Arkansas 58-21.

A strong showing against Oklahoma in the season opener has UTEP fans feeling optimistic about 2012.  UTEP will have to avoid the distractions that 'the grove' offers, and focus on playing hard against the Ole Miss Rebels.

Ole Miss overcame a shaky first half to defeat Central Arkansas 49-27.  There will be growing pains under first year head coach Hugh Freeze, but junior college transfer quarterback Bo Wallace had a promising start to his Ole Miss career.  Wallace was 20/24 for 264 yards and two touchdowns against the Bears.

Aslan Hodges, the sports director for WAPT, the ABC affiliate in Jackson, MS joined the "Sports Spin" to break down the match up.  He also gave his opinion as to why things went so wrong for former coach Houston Nutt.

He (Houston Nutt) admitted at SEC media days last year he didn't thing the 'Egg Bowl' was a big deal.
