Americas Gets Dramatic First Win Against Montwood [VIDEO]

What a game! Americas holds off Montwood for the Trailblazers' first-ever win over the Rams. As you heard it live on Football Friday Night, watch all the action on Time Warner Cable Ch. 24, Wednesday at 6 p.m. and check the highlights here.

After Americas raced out to a 28-0 lead, Montwood came all the way back scoring 35 unanswered points to take their first lead, 35-28, in the fourth quarter. But the Trailblazers found their first half game and tied the District 1-5A contest, 35-35.

Americas forced the Rams to punt, then aggressively drove into the red zone. As time expired, 5-foot-5 kicker Daniel Perezchica shook off a brutal hit delivered on the game-tying PAT and put through the game-winning 22-yard field goal.
