Halloween weekend is here! As a Halloween lover, if you have costume questions- I have no problem helping you out! I have been making my own costumes for many years now and am always willing to help others make costumes that are budget friendly!

If you're looking for some budget friendly, but unique costumes, especially if you want to win that cash contest, then you may be interested in checking out a few suggestions.

Why not make your costume this year El Paso themed? It's unique, and one of a kind! If you're wondering what you can make with just a few items, check out my list of 6 great El Themed Costumes you can make last minute.

1. The Sun

We are the Sun City! The costume you see above is one Buzz got me a couple of years ago for the parade; unfortunately the costume didn't come in time so now we just use it around the station. Of course, if you don't have the time to get yourself a real sun costume from China, just get yourself a yellow sheet, a hula hoop and insert yourself in it and boom! You're the sun!

2. Asarco Stacks

I've seen this be done and it looks awesome! Of course, it ALWAYS wins best costume! All you really need is some poster boards. Connect the boards to make a cylinder, get some orange and black paint and you too can look like you once were part of El Paso's skyline!

3. Beto O'Rourke

You can look like you're on the campaign trail with one simple blue collar shirt. To add a bit of flair, spray your hair with some white hair spray for that salt and pepper look and then spritz your shirt with some water so that you can imitate O'Rourke's famous sweat stain.

4. Cannabis Karen

You remember her, right? The woman who was walking her dog and was telling some kids to quit smoking weed? All you need is a sweater, a leash and a dog, maybe a stuffed one for a party- make sure to look angry at all the youths you pass by!

5. The star on the mountain

The star is red right now, but really you can make it your own color because I think it has been almost every color. All you need are some battery operated string lights formed as a star on you. You could be the one thing that makes everyone feel like they're home!

Now go forth and create! Don't forget to show off that costume at our parade!

SPOOKY GOOD: 2019 KLAQ Halloween Parade

For 2019, KLAQ's Halloween parade brought out Tony the Tiger to be the Grand Marshal. As for the Buzz Adams Morning Show, they dressed up and drove around as The Wizard of Oz but zombie style. Thank you to everyone who came out to the parade and make it a spooky good time.

LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
