There are not a lot of things that get me too excited.  All you can eat buffets and Swedish supermodels are about it.  ESPN's 24 college hoops marathon has really peaked my interest.  I will change names to protect the innocent (or guilty) but a buddy and me were at the Brew watching Monday Night Football when we noticed ESPN was promoting the hell out of the 24 hour college basketball marathon.  Being avid college basketball fans and two or six beers deep 'Jim' and me made one of those pacts that guys make when having a few suds.  Starting with Memphis/Miami at 10 o'clock 'Jim' and I closed down the Brew at 2 am with St. John's/ St. Mary's still going on.  We went our separate ways but vowed to stay up all night and watch college hoops until the sun came up (like we used to do in our sleeping bags during sleepovers).  Just like when I was a kid I crapped out at about 3 am (halftime of Central Michigan/Hawaii).  I reconvened about 11 am to watch the Mayors cup (Tulsa/Oral Roberts), and when I called my buddy I was amazed to find out he made to sun up and the end of the Stony Brook/Monmouth game that tipped off about 4 am.  The moral of the story is thank heavens the 24 hours college basketball marathon only comes once a year.  Make no mistake about it, I'll be back next year attempting to push my body and mind to the limit once again, all in the name of college hoops.
