Even if you're not a gamer or fan of video games, you've probably heard of the Grand Theft Auto series. Since 1997, the GTA series has become most of the popular & well known video game series out there with the games taking place in fictional renditions of real life cities such as New York City, Miami & Los Angeles. I've been a huge fan of the series since 2001 & I've played every game that has been released. After having a love for the GTA series, I can honestly say: I think El Paso would be the PERFECT location for a new game. There's already a video game series based on Juarez so why not have a game based in El Paso?

First of all, El Paso is HUGE: With a population of over 680,000 people & over 250 square miles, making a map for a video game would cover a ton of ground. And as I mentioned earlier, there exists the Call of Juarez series so there's absolutely a reason to believe that both cities can be featured.

There's already a huge fan base in the GTA community that created police cars that look EXACTLY like the ones you would find here in El Paso. So if you own a PC copy of GTA V, you can make the police drive the same cars that the EPPD drive.

And that's not even mentioning the REAL LIFE GTA scenarios we've had in El Paso:

  • or the plane that had to make an emergency landing on Doniphan Street

There's even an Instagram page, GTA El Chuco, dedicated to making celebrities in the style of GTA characters. Like Khalid

Eddie Guerrero

and Cesar Soto among many others.

Also anyone who's played GTA V knows people loves doing virtual car shows in the game. Well... we love that here in El Paso too.

Not to mention it would be AMAZING seeing 3D versions of Scenic Drive, Downtown El Paso, I-10 and of course the Star...
