Tony Romo Statistically a Better Broadcaster Than QB
Tony Romo has taken to the broadcast booth like a fish to water. He's such a natural behind the mic that he has become a lot of fans favorite broadcaster, and even had The Wall Street Journal take a look at his accuracy as a broadcaster compared to his accuracy as a quarterback.
They looked at 2,599 plays from every game he called. And they looked at the number of times he made a specific prediction, not just a general observation.
Of all those plays, he made 72 total predictions. He was right 68% of time. That's a better rate than Romo's completion rate when he was a quarterback. He had a career completion percentage of 65.3%.
Of course this is just being able to predict what play is coming, not being able to see what the defense is going to do AND make the right decision in a matter of seconds after the ball is snapped.
