The first-ever 9-1-5K virtual race will be quite unique this year do to the pandemic. The El Paso Chihuahuas are hosting a first-ever virtual 9-1-5K race in October. The virtual 9-1-5K race is presented by Texas Gas Service.

This virtual race being held won't be like any other race you've done in the past before. Normally, you're used to signing up and then meeting at a particular location to run with other participants. This time around and race won't be like the other years before. This virtual race can be wherever you would like.

For example, it can be inside your home on the treadmill, around your neighborhood, or a park. It is up to you on whether you prefer to run, walk, or jog in the virtual race. Plus, instead of finishing a 5K race within a certain time limit, they’re giving you a whole week to complete it. The race will begin on Thursday, October 1, and end on Thursday, October 8.

Registration for this virtual race begins on September 30. The registration will be $30 a person but also include a couple of perks. The perks will consist of receiving a participant tee shirt and voucher worth $9 to go towards a future 2021 Chihuahuas Monday through Wednesday game. Of course, they don’t want cheaters so they’re asking you to use any type of step app to show proof and share your results.
