Yu Darvish

Yu Darvish became the fastest big leaguer to reach 1,500 strikeouts for his career by fanning 11. Manny Machado and Jake Cronenworth homered and the Padres beat the Dodgers 6-2.

The San Diego Padres are set to add Blake Snell to their rotation in a trade with the Rays and Yu Darvish is also rumored in a separate trade with the Cubs.

The Texas Rangers emerged as the winners in the bidding war that now allows them the chance to sign Japanese phenom pitcher, Yu Darvish. The bid came at a steep price, though, at a reported $51.7 million.
