The UTEP men's basketball team (11-8, 2-4 C-USA) is searching for its first road win since March 3, 2018, and they will have their best chance of the season thus far when they square off against Rice (9-11, 1-6 C-USA) on Thursday night.
The UTEP Miners (1-11) concluded their season on Saturday off a 30-16 loss to Rice. UTEP struggled defensively, allowing 371 total yards against one of the worst offenses in the country.
On Monday morning, considering the Miners have lost 20 straight games, Vegas gave the Miners (0-8, 0-4 C-USA) a one-point edge over the hosting Rice Owls for this Saturday's matchup.

The UTEP Miners sustained a costly loss on Senior night at the Don Haskins Center on Wednesday night. It was a disappointing end to the Miners home schedule, as Rice swept the season series by winning 68-61. The Miners had a solid performance by senior Gabe McCulley, who shined in his last home game as a Miner, scoring 17. John Bohannon added 13 points in the losing effort.
All the momentum UTEP had after consecutive wins over Memphis and Southern Miss seems to be gone. After a lackluster performance against UCF over the weekend, the Miners dropped their final home game of the season, 68-61 to Rice.
