Former UTEP basketball player Kent Lockhart, who played for Don Haskins and the Miners from 1981-1985 has passed away at the age of 59.

Former Miners guard Jeep Jackson and receiver Lee Mays highlight the Class of 2020 UTEP Athletics Hall of Fame, with the banquet next Friday at the Sun Bowl.

This year's class includes the 2000 Western Athletic Conference Champion Football Team, Jeep Jackson (men’s basketball), Tanja Magoc (tennis), Lee Mays (football), Holly Russ (women’s basketball) and Jami Tullius (soccer).

It is hard to believe that it has been 25 years since the passing of Hernell “Jeep” Jackson. On May 2nd, 1987, the UTEP point guard was playing in a benefit basketball game at Fort Bliss.
