The UTEP men's basketball squad will tip-off their second week of non-conference play, as they host Northern New Mexico College on Tuesday before heading to Pacific on Friday.
Using a huge run in the second half and with help from its stifling second half defense, the Miners were able to get their first Conference USA series sweep on Saturday after defeating FIU, 77-68.
Entering the game having lost seven of their last nine, the Miners had been starving for some momentum. They were boosted by a hot-shooting night at the Haskins Center on Friday, with a bounce-back win against Florida International, 75-59.
In a must-win situation, the UTEP men's basketball team answered the call by using a mighty second half performance to top UTSA 69-51, thus splitting the series with the Roadrunners.
The UTEP men's basketball squad will endure their second conference road series of the season, facing off against North Texas on Friday and Saturday in Denton.
