Fans might not recognize some of the teams in the 2017 WestStar Bank Don Haskins Sun Bowl Invitational, but they include mid major powerhouses like North Carolina Wilmington who made three straight trips to the NCAA Tournament.

On Sunday, March 22nd 1992, the UTEP Miners shocked Kansas and the rest of the college basketball world with a 66-60 upset against the top seed in the Midwest Region.

Now, you can go back in time 30 years to the commemorative rings that were given to that Miners team. The date was March 1st 1986, and the ceremony took place at halftime of the Hawaii game...

In less than a month, the surviving members and families of the 1965-66 Texas Western College National Championship team will be honored at the February 6th game between UTEP and Western Kentucky.
