On Saturday night June 24th, rock legend Alice Cooper will return to El Paso and take the Budweiser Main Stage as the headliner for the El Paso Downtown Streetfest. The 69-year old singer, songwriter, and actor has a career that has spanned over five decades, and his tour stop in El Paso will be his first stop in the Sun City in four years. He first played El Paso on July 15th, 1972 at the Coliseum on his School's Out tour with Jo Jo Gunn and Captain Beyond.

About 17 years ago, I was in Phoenix with Buzz Adams for a live broadcast at Chase Field (then known as Bank One Ballpark). It opened in 1998 and we took a tour of the ballpark and had a few special guests drop by. One of them was PGA golfer Rich Beem and the other was Cooper. I was fortunate enough to have some one-on-one time with the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, and we talked mostly about his love of sports.
