Sad news to report from the NFL as Hall of Fame member Frank Gifford passed away on Sunday at the age of 84. A statement from Gifford's family stated that he died suddenly at his Connecticut home of natural causes.

Here's more from the statement:

"We rejoice in the extraordinary life he was privileged to live, and we feel grateful and blessed to have been loved by such an amazing human being, We ask that our privacy be respected at this difficult time and we thank you for your prayers."

Gifford was the NFL's Most Valuable Player in 1956 when he led the New York Giants to a league championship. But most people will remember him for his second career when he was a very popular broadcaster on "Monday Night Football."
