New Orleans reliever Sam Dyson led off the top of the 11th inning with a line drive hit to left field and later scored the go-ahead run in the Zephyrs 5-3 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas Monday night at Southwest University Park. The Chihuahuas are now 0-3 in extra-inning games this season.

Rocky Gale broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the fourth with a bases loaded, two-out, two-run single. Jake Goebbert’s solo home run in the sixth inning gave the Chihuahuas a three-run lead and knocked out a panel on the videoboard in deep right-center field. New Orleans scored once in the seventh to get within two and in the eighth the Zephyrs tied the game on a two-out, two-run home run by Jake Marisnick. The Zephyrs pushed across two runs in the top of the 11th and held the Chihuahuas without a baserunner in the bottom of the 11th to win the game.

Donn Roach pitched 5.2 scoreless innings in his Chihuahuas debut, getting a no-decision. Jeff Francoeur, Gale and Goebbert each had two hits in the loss for the Chihuahuas.

Rocky Gale put the Chihuahuas in lead with this 2-Run single in the fourth inning.

The jumbo-tron needs to be repaired after this Jake Goebbert blast in the sixth to make it 3-0 Chihuahuas.
