Upon returning to Mexico, Herrera stated in a press conference that he would confront Martinoli the next time the two would cross paths.

A couple of exchanges on Twitter would follow.

Monday morning, the former Mexican National Team Coach made good on his promise, allegedly going up to Martinoli and punching him on the right side of his neck. Then, a melee ensued that also involved Herrera’s daughter and Martinoli’s colleague, color commentator for TV Aztec and Mexican soccer legend Luis Garcia.

Herrera proceeded to confront and verbally attack Martinoli while they were in line to go through the TSA security checkpoint. Herrera stated that this would happen from now on everytime he saw Martinoli.
