The supposed 'fight of the century' between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao to unify the welterweight championships turned out to be one of the biggest disappointments in boxing history.  There were a few exciting moments in the fight where Pacquiao landed some solid shots on Mayweather, but for the most part the bout was like watching paint dry.

How ironic that the most anticipated and highest grossing fight in boxing history turned out to be a typical Mayweather special where Money danced around more than Fred Astaire and held on to Pacquiao whenever things became heated.  This wasn't a fight, it was a true dog and pony show.  After all, what did we really expect?  Did fans really think that Mayweather would actually deviate from his typical boring defensive style?

Money deserves credit, no one has been able to beat him yet.  People who spent $100 to purchase the fight had to be sick that they wasted their money.  If you watched the fight for free on the Mexican station, consider yourself extremely fortunate.  Mayweather clearly won and is the better fighter than Pacman.  If these two fought 10 times, Mayweather would win all 10 times, without question.

The big picture is that the so-called greatest fight ever was a bigger disappointment than any of us could have anticipated and there should be no rematch.  Sure Pacquiao claims that his shoulder was injured and that may have led to his demise, but it's just an excuse.  Pacman's post fight interview was rather comical and more entertaining than the actual fight.  He claimed to have won the fight, and said he couldn't hit Mayweather because he was constantly moving.

Mayweather said he will fight one more time in September and then retire.  Hopefully it won't be a rematch with Pacman, the public got rear ended once and doesn't deserve another poor excuse for a championship bout.  I, like millions of other boxing fans around the world, actually hoped for something that never would be a possibility; Mayweather vs. Pacquiao actually being a great fight like Hagler vs. Hearns, Leonard vs. Duran, or Leonard vs. Hearns.  No this was a typical Mayweather fight and if a rematch were to occur we would all be fools to buy into it.  As the old expression goes, "Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."
