El Paso will be getting a professional soccer team after all. Earlier today, the El Paso Coyotes were announced as a new expansion team in the Major Arena Soccer League. The team will begin play 10 homes at the El Paso County Coliseum beginning in November and the 20-game regular season will last until the end of February 2017.

This past season, twenty teams competed in the MASL, including three in Mexico. The cities include: Baltimore, Syracuse, Detroit, Harrisburg, Independence (Missouri), Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Louis, Cedar Rapids, Las Vegas, Baja, Brownsville, Saltillo, Sacramento, Turlock, Sonora, San Diego, Tacoma, Ontario, and Dallas.

The Coyotes already named Héctor Hugo Eugui as the franchise's inaugural head coach. Eugui had previously managed both the Juarez Indios and Juarez Cobras and the 69 year old has more than 45 years of experience as both a player and coach. The team has a Facebook page and official Twitter handle and they will be making more announcements in the coming weeks.
