Love Songs By Texas Artists Perfect For Valentine’s Day

As Sir Paul McCartney once said, "You'd think that people would have had enough of silly love songs. I look around me and I see it isn't so".

Well these Texas love songs are anything BUT silly; these are some great love, and anti, love songs for your pleasure.

Spoon: If you want a song that perfectly describes you when you want to show off your girl, or guy, Spoon's "My Babe" is my song of choice. If you want a 2nd pick, "Can I Sit Next To You" is another one.

Roky Erickson: "I Love The Living You" is a great example of someone showing their appreciation for someone they truly care about. Another song of choice would be "For You (I'd Do Anything)"

Lyle Lovett: Sometimes love can be hard; you have good days and bad days. But if you truly love each other, than love will triumph all. That's what Lyle says in "Her Loving Man". He's also been known to show love to El Paso too.

Stevie Ray Vaughan: When you're in love, you can't live without that special someone. And Stevie Ray Vaughan perfectly sums it up in "Love Struck Baby".

The Reverend Horton Heat: "Love Whip" is all about... well a certain KIND of love. Listen to the lyrics & you'll know what I mean.

ZZ Top: It's hard to pin it down to just one, because ZZ Top has some great songs about love. "I Need You Tonight", "It's Only Love", "Backdoor Love Affair" come to mind. But the one I would pick is, without a doubt, "Gimme All Your Lovin'"

But as we know, sometimes you just want to pl that say "screw love" and these songs do just that:

Pantera "This Love": Despite being a power ballad, this song is certainly NOT like a classic ballad. Sometimes we find ourselves in the wrong relationships

Drowning Pool "Love X2": "I don't need your love... I don't need you, no". This lyric definitely describes how one would feel when being with someone controlling or toxic.

Nothing More "Go to War": If you've been through a divorce or nasty breakup, you know exactly what Johnny Hawkins is talking about in "Go To War".

Hellyeah "Love Falls": Going through a breakup can make someone go through the worst feelings one can go through. Like those experienced in "Love Falls"

Honorable Mention - Toadies "Mister Love": I had a very hard time determining if this was a love song or an "anit-love" song. People's interpretations seem to lean more on the negative side of things. But I'll let you listen to it and YOU decide.
