Little League Player Show us What Sportsmanship is All About
In a Little League game that sent Pearland, Texas to the Little League World Series we witnessed the best example of sportsmanship that I have ever seen. the now-viral incident shows Texas East(PEARLAND) pitcher, Kaiden Shelton, threw a pitch that hit Oklahoma's Isaiah Jarvis in the head. It looked very serious, however, Jarvis jumped back up and went to first base.
Moments later you can see that the Texas East pitcher, Shelton, is clearly distraught in tears. Jarvis saw that Shelton was upset and walked to the mound to console him and give him a hug. At this moment these two kids just showed the world what true sportsmanship is all about. Maybe some of the big boys that get paid the big bucks should take some notes.
With this victory, Texas will be represented in the Little League World Series. Pearland defeated Tulsa National 9-4. After the game, KHOU, caught up with Shelton to talk about this moment and what was going through his head.
The Little League World Series tournament in Williamsport starts next week! This will be Pearland's fourth trip to the LL World Series since being established in 1970.
