Gold medal met gold glove when Olympic hero Katie Ledecky enlisted some unorthodox help from Bryce Harper while throwing out the first pitch before the Nationals game against the Orioles on Wednesday.

Okay, so maybe Harper has not won a Gold Glove (yet), but you certainly get the point.

Ledecky, the swimming hero who won five medals (including four golds) at the recently-wrapped up Summer Olympics in Rio, got Harper, the reigning National League MVP to hold her hardware while she tossed the first pitch.

Ledecky says the whole thing was her idea and Harper was more than happy to act as a sort of trophy case. Very few people can make a talent as big as Harper serve as his sport's version of a bat boy, but when you're an Olympic hero riding a wave of popularity and dominance like Ledecky is, you can certainly get away with it.
