Jets-Patriots Draws Best Rating Since ’97
The Jets' upset of the rival New England Patriots drew the highest preliminary television rating for a divisional playoff game in 14 years.
New York's 28-21 win over New England sunday on CBS earned a 26.2 overnight rating and 44 share. The network said Monday it was the best rating for this round since Dallas-Carolina in January 1997.
Ratings represent the percentage of all homes with televisions tuned into a program. Shares represent the percentage of all homes with TVs in use at the time. Overnight ratings measure the country's largest markets.
This is second week in a row that the NFL has received record setting ratings, so with that being said...The NFL and the Players Union better get they're act straight and come to a collective bargain agreement. If there is a strike, fans will be very upset...The MLB has yet to recover in viewership from when they went on strike many years ago.
