Three wins, two draws and a team trending upward in the USL Championship Western standings—all of these achievements sum up the high points of the El Paso Locomotive FC through the past month.

But give credit where credit is due. They would be nowhere near the top five of the standings without the likes of forward sensation Jerome Kiesewetter.

Through the month of May, Kiesewetter scored six goals in four games, which brings his total to nine goals in nine games. His valiant effort was enough to be named USL Championship’s Player of the Month.

In fact, his nine goals pins him tied for second place in the Golden Boot race—behind New Mexico United's Kevaughn Frater (10).

“I am very excited to be named player of the month,” said Kiesewetter in a statement. “I know there were a bunch of other great players on the list and I am grateful to have won. I am thankful to everyone who voted for me and want to continue playing like we have as a team.”

The Locomotive FC will face the Tulsa Roughnecks this week on the road and will return home next week, June 22nd, to face the Las Vegas Lights.
