Jennifer Han continued her reign as the IBF World Featherweight champion with a convincing victory over heavy hitter Liliana Martinez at the Don Haskins Center.  Despite having very little film to research on the native of the Dominican Republic, Han brought a brilliant game plan into her second title defense.

Martinez was the aggressor early in the first round, however Jennifer was much more in control to start the fight, and maintained the same composure throughout the evening.  Han's defense has always been her bread and butter as a boxer, and she was able to avoid the majority of Martinez power shots throughout the bout due to her consistent movement, agility and tremendous speed.

Despite being a power puncher and winning 12 of her 20 fights by way of KO, Martinez threw numerous wild punches and was unable to ever gain control of the fight, even when there were exchanges towards the end of certain rounds, Han would get the best of them.  When Martinez landed a power shot, Han took it like a champ and countered right back.  Even more impressive about Han's victory was the fact that she faced a red hot opponent in Martinez, who came into the bout winning 8 of her last 9 fights.

All three judges agreed that Han dominated the fight by giving her the unanimous decision, the scores were, 98-92, 100-98, and 99-91.  Following the fight I was able to speak with Jennifer's brother Abie, and he mentioned that the plan is for her to potentially fight again in January, and there is a possibility that the bout may be on Showtime.

El Paso's Sweetheart continues to make the Sun City proud, and there are no signs that she is slowing down as Han's dominance was displayed again in her second title defense.  Jen is a true mentor and role model for children and all of her fans, and there is no doubt that we are fortunate to have a tremendous world champion right here in our own back yard.
