Texas Has a Pretty Good Chance in an Alien Invasion
Cue the X-Files theme! Remember that time there was a big deal over the congressional hearings over UFO's? Oh, my bad, I mean "UAP's" aka "unidentified aerial phenomena". I'm not entirely sure when the name changed from UFO to UAP's, but I feel like you lost me at the name change!
Do I believe in aliens? Maybe. Maybe not little green men but could there possibly be something out there? Sure! I want to believe, pardon the X-Files pun. In an effort to not seem so dismissive, I decided to do some digging around; surely if these UAP's are a big deal, then when they come invading the Lone Star state, we'll totally be ready, right?
It looks like Texas would actually fare pretty well in the event of an alien invasion, and I'm not just saying that because I live here, this is at least according to GIGACalculator, a website that offers online calculators to help users with everyday math problems and statistics. A recent study from the company ranked the states' odds of surviving an alien invasion.
Would Texas Survive an Alien Invasion?
According GIGACalculator, they looked at factors such as the number of UFO sightings in each state, access to food and water, the number of medical professionals and scientists, military presence, population density and places to run and hide, also the number of caves. All 50 states were given survival scores based an analysis and Texas earned a 7.42 out of 10, and we came in at number 14! Not a bad score for the Lone Star state.
While Texas didn't make it in the top ten, it certainly fared better than Nevada, who came in dead last! Looks like Sin City is the worst for aliens, but if you want a fighting chance, Texas is the place to be!
