Can we blame the city folks in Austin, Houston Or Dallas for this since everybody is moving to those places? A new annual list by WalletHub ranked the best and worst states to live in and we're slipping in the power rankings yall!

New Mexico was rated the worst, and Massachusetts the best this year so lets get that out of the way. But to determine these rankings, WalletHub compared the 50 states across five key dimensions:

1) Affordability,

2) Economy

3) Education & Health

4) Quality of Life

5) Safety.

We'll dig into that in a minute but let's go ahead and find out where Texas landed at.

Lots of factors and metrics were used to find out how Texas is ranked based on Economy and there's WAY too much to list here. But despite what "politicians" may say in Texas, we're in the "middle of the road" in terms of "Economy" as Texas ranked at Number 32 in that department.

This section is where Texas takes it biggest loss and lowest ranking at. Texas landed at Number 38 in the rankings for education and health. Texas is NEXT TO LAST in the percentage of Population Aged 25 & Older with a High School Diploma or Higher and DEAD LAST in the percentage of population that's insured.

How about school districts stop sinking MILLIONS into "High school football stadiums" and start investing that money into ya know THE SCHOOL ITSELF...

Now this where where we get back into the Top 10! Texas ranked Number 9 in Quality of life based on factors like restaurants, movie theaters and bars per capita. We know how to have a good time.

But in terms of crime and safety, we're back in the 30s. Texas ranked at number 34 in Safety based on Violent-Crime Rates, Property-Crime Rate, Traffic-related Fatalities per Capita and Total Law-Enforcement Employees per Capita.
