Jury duty is one of those necessary evils. Yes, everybody deserves their day in court. I absolutely agree with that. However, one of the biggest pains to go through is jury duty - whether you get selected or not.

As I was thinking about jury duty, my mind started wandering - this may or may not have taken place while I was sitting at the courthouse waiting on jury duty, I cannot confirm nor deny. I started to think about what kinds of things I, along with other Texas residents, would rather be doing than sitting there waiting on selection to begin.

Now, keep in mind, the bar is pretty low. Having to get up, dress nicely, sit there and listen to how someone may or may not have broken the law, then have to debate on guilt or innocence is not my idea of a fun day.

Jury duty is a necessary evil. Everyone deserves their day in court. However, it doesn't mean that the jurors are going to enjoy it. In fact, I'd argue that most of them would enjoy - almost - anything more than that. Here are just a few things that rank higher than jury duty.

So, there you have it. Some people might argue that a few of those are pushing it a bit. And hey, that's alright. You're entitled to your opinion, too. Now, I will say this: There are some things that are actually worse than jury duty. I'm thinking sunburns, paying taxes...Yeah, that about sums it up.
