Find Out Which Super Bowl 2023 Players Have Ties To Wisconsin
Wisconsin's favorite team didn't even make the playoffs this year and who knows where Aaron Rodgers will end up. However, there are some players in this year's Super Bowl that have ties to Wisconsin.
This weekend is heating up as the best team in the AFC is going up against the best team in the NFC. The Dairy state will at least see two familiar faces during the Super Bowl as one player from the Kansas City Chiefs and one player from the Philadelphia Eagles have ties to the state.
T.J. Edwards
The first player with ties plays Linebacker for the Eagles. Wearing number 57 is T.J. Edwards. The Linebacker was an undrafted player who has been with the team since 2019. Since then, he has 389 recorded tackles, 13 pass deflections, 5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and recoveries, and 2 interceptions.
What is Edwards's tie to Wisconsin? He played college ball for the Badgers. During his time at the University of Wisconsin, he was the 2017 Cotton Bowl MVP, made the First-Team All-Big Ten Team twice, and made the First-Team All-American in 2017.
Leo Chanel
The second player also happens to be a Linebacker who wears number 54. Leo Chanel was picked up by the Chiefs in the last year's Draft as the 103rd pick in the 3rd round. Not only did Chanel also attend the University of Wisconsin, but he was also born in the state.
Chanel is from Grantsburg, Wisconsin (which is a little over 100 miles from Superior, Wisconsin. In his rookie year, he recorded 35 tackles and 1 sack this past season. During his college career, Chanel made the First-Team All-Big Ten team in 2021.
