EPISD Changes Food Distribution Schedule To 3 Days A Week

The El Paso Independent School District is changing their breakfast and lunch distribution schedule to only three days a week. Your child will still be able to get 5 days worth of meals, but the district says they are changing to three days a week for distribution to cut down on the possibility of exposure to the coronavirus for everyone involved.

Beginning Monday, April 20, you can pick up your child's meals Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. You will still pick up the meals curbside from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Kids will get two breakfasts and two lunches on Mondays and Wednesdays, and one breakfast and lunch on Friday.

The free take-home breakfasts and lunches are available for all children ages 1-18 whether they are a student in EPISD or not. You do not have to take your kids with you to get the meals. You can take your kids to a distribution site to be officially counted by EPISD Food and Nutrition staff, and then you will be issued a card with the number of children in your household. Bring the card with you and that's how many meals you will get throughout the week.

You can also take one of these documents with you to show how many kids you have in your home if you would rather not take your kiddos with you in the car:
An official school enrollment document (letter or email)
Student report cards
School attendance records from a school district parent portal
Birth certificate for children not enrolled in school
Student ID cards

The cards you are issued are good for the school that issued them only. EPISD officials are asking parents to only go to one school for meal distribution for their kids.
