The El Paso Parks and Rec Department has decided to make their Summer Concert Music Series virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As the nation continues to deal with the coronavrius pandemic, Texas continues to be one of the hardest hit states. August 13th the state recorded 6,755 new positive cases and 255 new deaths according to the Texas Tribune. The state and city officials are continuing their efforts to mitigate social gatherings and that includes the usual Summer Concert Music series. Normally, this is the time when people like to meet up in some great locations around the city to socialize and listen to free concerts. Now that we are in a pandemic, that isn't possible to do safely. To still try and give El Pasoans a little bit of what is normal for us during the summer, the Parks and Recreation Department has decided to move their Summer Concert Music series online.

The El Paso Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting their Summer Concert Music Series on their Facebook Page and have bands performing every week. The shows will start at 8 p.m. every Friday for the rest of the month. On August 14th, you can enjoy Los Nobles Band, and on August 21st Hypnosis Band will be taking the stage. Finally, on August 28th we will see Aaron Palacios performing, a Juan Gabriel Tribute Band. The City of El Paso is hoping that bringing this live music to the comfort of your home will give you some quality entertainment to enjoy while you are still social distancing and being safe. For more information on additional virtual events in the future, please check the El Paso Parks and Recreation website.
