The El Paso Chihuahuas released their 2017 roster today and 13 of the 24 players previously spent time with the team. In addition, 16 of the players on the roster have played in the Major Leagues. The biggest surprise is Cory Spangenberg, who was expected to make the Padres out of Spring Training. The team explained that they want him to pay every day and that would not be possible with San Diego. Spangenberg missed most of last season due to injury. Jabari Blash was also a surprise after he hit seven home runs for the Padres in Spring Training.
