Streetfest 2012 FAQs – Dubba Gs’ Guide

Streetfest 2012 starts tomorrow … are you ready?!? Streetfest is gona rock this weekend with bands, beer, babes, (yeah, yeah, yeah … guys to ladies!), car shows, food, drinks, fireworks and more!! Here’s some answers to your most-asked questions:

Cash is king! If you buy your tickets at the gate, they’ll accept plastic but once inside it’s all about the paper! Get plenty before you arrive or you can hit up the ATMs scattered around the street fest area! (Get some for me to while you’re at it!)

To quote an Axe tune from the 80s, “This is a genuine ‘knock down, drag out rock n roll party in the street,” but there are a few “don’ts” Just so you know:

No Cameras (Video or regular … cell phones however are cool!)

No Chairs (except, of course, wheelchairs for the handicapped/disabled)

No Umbrellas (If the sun gets to you, head into the Abraham Chavez theater or the convention center and cool off while you check out all the activities in those buildings!)

No Video (We’ll have tons up here on KLAQ.com soon enough so you can re-live the party!)

No Weapons (Duh. Any shooting will have to take place across the river.)

No back packs (Purses and diaper bags are ok but they WILL BE SEARCHED!!)

No outside food or drink (We got PLENTY inside for you, just remember the cash-only thing!)

It won’t start cooling off til around 8ish so be sure you drink plenty of water! (If you’re into the suds, be sure you drink some water every time you grab a brew!)

No pets! Sorry, Fido has to sit this one out. No cats, ferrets (seriously, someone tried it last year), snakes, lions, tigers, bears … nothing. Service animals are permitted though and the city will also provide plenty of pigeons for you to look at.

Be Cool!! We’re all there to have a good time ….leave the tempers, attitudes and general bullcrap outside!

Coating yourself in sunblock is probably a good idea if you’re planning on being there between 6 and 8!

Parking is available in city lots, so get there early and give yourself time to get your car parked.
