In response to both the alarming rise in active COVID-19 cases and to help meet the recent high demand for COVID tests, the City of El Paso has opened a sixth testing site.

The new location is in the northeast at the Region 19 Kenworthy Complex located at 9776 Kenworthy. Free drive-thru testing will take place at this location Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. until further notice. Testing is being conducted by the Texas Military Department Mobile Testing Team.

Like the other state testing sites throughout the city, no appointments are needed. The nasal swab tests are available to anyone 5 years or older with or without symptoms.

The Kenworthy site is the third new location to open this week. Wednesday, the city established testing sites at UTEP and the Eastside Sports Complex on Montwood.

In addition to the three mentioned above, the city is also offering no-cost COVID-19 testing daily at Nations Tobin Recreation Center and El Paso Community College Valle Verde Campus, and Sunday through Friday at the SISD Student Activities Complex.

Tests are also being administered at a handful of county locations. No appointment necessary at county sites either, but once the daily capacity of 500 is met the site will be closed to additional testing.
