Alvin Jones Rejoins Ravens’ on Practice Squad After Injury
After week six of NFL action, the Baltimore Ravens announced Monday evening that they would be signing former UTEP standout linebacker Alvin Jones.
Jones, who was initially waived by the Ravens on Aug. 31, has used this time to rehab in El Paso from an apparent leg injury and is ready to rejoin the Ravens.
He had two impressive first outings with Baltimore in their first two preseason games, registering five tackles in both games against the Bears and Rams.
Jones was getting reps on defense and special teams, and as time went on during the preseason, more minutes were granted to him. Now it will be Jones' chance to prove himself to the team and try to earn a roster spot for the Ravens.
He was an undrafted free agent signed by the Ravens following the 2018 NFL Draft. With the Miners, he finished his career posting 343 career tackles, which ranks the second-best at UTEP since the 2000 season. He also had 15 sacks, ranking tied for fourth in school history.
