A&A All the Way Foundation Push Charity Softball Game to June 24
In order to try and bring more of their football colleagues to El Paso, Aaron and Alvin Jones announced that their foundation's inaugural charity softball game will be rescheduled from April 19 to June 24 at Southwest University Park.
The A&A All the Way Foundation softball game will honor all tickets purchased from the previous date. In addition, those that cannot make the new date can call 915-533-BASE to request a full refund.
The move makes sense due to rescheduled offseason workouts by Green Bay. The Packers start offseason programs on April 18, which would conflict with the previous April 19 start.
“We just wanted to make sure we could bring all our guys in and make it fun for the community,” said Aaron Jones said in a statement.
The inaugural softball game will feature a home run derby at 6:30 p.m. with the game itself set for a 7:30 p.m. first pitch. The foundation will be hosting in-game giveaways, a silent auction, raffle and they will be selling merchandise.
Plus, there will be celebrity rosters on both Team Aaron and Team Alvin.
The brothers, who are set to compete against each other, plan to announce their rosters soon. In the past for youth football camps, the Jones brothers have brought other former UTEP players that are starring in the NFL, such as Will Hernandez, Nik Needham and Roy Robertson-Harris. They typically bring teammates to El Paso as well.
Aaron wrapped up his fourth season with the Green Bay Packers in 2021, to which he finished with 799 rushing yards, averaged 4.7 yards per attempt and ended with four touchdowns. Year five under the Packers should bring another season where the squad is competing for a run in the playoffs.
After being released from the Ravens in 2018, Alvin Jr. has signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. The linebacker appeared in one game for the team in 2021 and made a special teams tackle.
Proceeds from the event will support A&A All The Way Foundation’s community programs focused on youth recreation and fitness, children’s basic needs and military families.
