Yet another turn for wrestling legend Paul Wight, formerly know as "The Big Show" as he becomes #ALLELITE. In a press release from AEW officials earlier it stated that Wight will be joining with a long-term deal featuring backstage, on-air, and in-rings roles.

This came as a surprise to many wrestling fans today as Wight had been a part of the WWE for the last 22 years. Wight signed with WCW back in 1995, using the ring name, The Giant. While in WCW, he won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship twice. Wight then moved to WWE in 1999. Over his two decades of experience with WWE, he won almost every belt and championship available.

In the AEW's press release it highlighted Wight's new role on a newly announced third wrestling show for AEW titled AEW Dark: Elevation. It looks like the plans for Wight will be on commentary for the new program set to air on Mondays at 7 p.m. ET on AEW’s YouTube channel. AEW Dark: Elevation will showcase AEW’s established and rising stars, as well as the top independent wrestlers within the industry. AEW Dark: Elevation will also maintain continuity with AEW DYNAMITE, AEW Dark, AEW pay-per-view shows and streaming events, with wins and losses factoring into each wrestler’s ranking in the company.

Wight has long talked about wrestling fellow giant Shaquille O'Neal. They've had brief interactions in WWE. This reveal all comes conveniently close to Shaq's scheduled appearance in an AEW match next week. We'll have to see wait and see!
