The El Paso Chihuahuas had two-out RBI hits from Taylor Lindsey and Adam Moore in the bottom of the tenth inning in their 4-3 win at Cashman Field in Las Vegas on Friday. The Chihuahuas won three of the four games against the first place 51s and now sit in second place by themselves, 7.5 games out of first.

 

The starting pitching matchup featured two of the top prospects in baseball, 21-year olds Matt Wisler and Noah Syndergaard. Neither hurler allowed an earned run in the game. After falling behind 1-0 in the sixth, the Chihuahuas scored two runs with two outs in the seventh when Jace Peterson scored on a passed ball and Tyler Greene hit a solo home run. All four El Paso runs came with two outs.

 

Dennis O’Grady started August the same way he finished July, pitching 1.1 scoreless innings to get the win. O’Grady had a 0.91 ERA in July. Jake Goebbert went 4-for-5 in the win for El Paso.

 

In the seventh inning, Jace Peterson scored on a wild pitch to tie the game.

 

The very next batter was Tyler Greene and he put the Chihuahuas ahead with this home run.

 

In the 10th inning, the Chihuahuas got back to back RBI singles from Taylor Lindsey and Adam Moore to seal the win.
