According to a European study, sex and watching soccer (or any sport) have something in common, at least from a physiological standpoint.  Spanish and Dutch researches tested male and female fans watching the 2010 World Cup finals between Spain and the Netherlands.

What the researchers found was that both males and females secreted high levels of the sex hormone testosterone during the game.  Hmm, that would explain why so many cars are overturned and set on fire after big losses (and sometimes wins.)  Researches also noticed spikes in the 'stress' hormone cortisol.

Personally, I didn't need any scientific research to tell me what I already knew; watching sports fires me up and stresses me out (when I have money on it.)

Hopefully, the Spanish and Dutch researchers will next tackle the effects of alcohol on inhibition.
