The Cinemark on Remcon Circle is the latest of its El Paso theaters to welcome movie-going fans back.

Cinemark West and XD on the west side is set to reopen August 14, according to the company website. The theater chain has been opening locations back up in phases since going dark several months ago at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. As 93.1 KISS-FM previously reported, Cinemark 20 and XD, a.k.a Tinseltown, fired up its popcorn machines on July 31.

Comeback Classics and Reduced Pricing

Like Tinseltown, the 7440 Remcon Circle location is only offering classic flicks. That's because every new movie originally scheduled for summer release has been pushed back to late fall or even next year, thus movie fans seeking some out-of-the-house entertainment will have to make do with mostly older movies.

More recent fare from this decade is also getting sprinkled in here and there at both theaters, but for now it's mostly what they're calling "Comeback Classics."

And to entice you to "comeback," the movies are being offered at a reduced price of $5 per adult and $3 for children and seniors. The price of some things at the snack bar like popcorn, candy and fountain drinks will also be “greatly reduced.”

Safety Measures

Like everything else that has opened back up since its pandemic shutdown, it won’t be business as usual. Safety measures for moviegoers and employees will be in place. Face masks are required to be worn by everyone except when eating a drinking in auditoriums, for example. You can do a deep dive of Cinemark’s safety protocols HERE

Other El Paso Cinemark Locations

Cinemark East Montana and XD, and Cinemark Cielo Vista Mall do not have a scheduled reopening date set yet. Cinemark Movie Bistro inside Sunland Park Mall shut down for good at the beginning of July.
